So I bet you're wondering how the site came about.....well its pretty simple, here's the story..........

Picture the scene........ 2007, its a cold, cold winter AGAIN and I've just got over what is probably the worst case of manflu I'd had this year (the 2nd Occassion !!!!)

After almost a week of being close to death and not setting foot outside the bedroom accept for the occassional mission down to the kitchen for hot drinks I managed to dose myself up enough to return to work. Men were dropping like flies and I knew exactly how they felt and hoped deep down that the people who would be caring for them realised what the wrong support might do to increase the severity of ManFlu.

The next week was our Christmas do, one of the seats was empty.......At the time I didn't know that ManFlu was the suspected cause but knowing that it could be, the other men around the table decided that as a tribute to our fallen comrade, and as the staff were still bringing his meal out we would share in his pain. I guess it was almost like a salute to his bravery that we decided to share his turkey dinner and someone even thought it best so send him a photo message of what he was missing just to try and cheer him up a bit.

A week later on the way back to the carpark I met up with my collegue and I found out that he did in fact have a nasty dose of ManFlu and he also explained that the piccys we sent were appreciated and did to some extent help him in his long and stressful recovery, thats when we hit apon the idea of a website for the support of those of us men that find themselves sweating it out with a temperature and with only the support of someone who cannot comprehend the severity and effects of the disorder fully.

And so ManFlu.org.uk was born.

Since then manflu.org.uk has been hacked !! resulting in a complete rebuild of the site. We've been visited by thousands of people trying to find out more about this misunderstood affliction and we've even had someone who trademarked to work manflu threaten us with legal action !! But we're still here and will be for the foreseeable future as long as we have your support.

We've also had mentions in The Star, not the national one, the Press and Journal  and The Shuttle (no I haven't heard of it either) and none of them actually told us that they were pulling info from our site, still can't have everything.

The Site still isn't up and running as it was before but we're having trouble sourcing the data that we had on the previous site. We're still looking for your contributions in particular pictures of a loved one with ManFlu.
